Old way vs our way

You did it yourself. It got likes, not installs.

Nearly every installer has done it: a photo of a finished job, twenty euro behind it, a few thumbs up and a message from someone looking for a job. That is not advertising, it is a raffle. Here is the difference.

The bit most agencies skip

Three homeowners. Three completely different ads.

Showing the same ad to everyone is why social media gets a bad name with installers. We run three audiences at once, and each one sees the ad that fits where they are. Click through them.

Who sees it

Homeowners in your area who have not thought about solar yet.

What they see

A short video of a real job, before and after. No hard sell, just proof that it works and that you are local.

Goal: get known, and build the audience we retarget later.
How we do it

Our Facebook and Instagram process.

Built around your area, your budget and the jobs you actually want more of.

In detail

What each step actually involves.

1Step one

Audience build

Not a boosted post shown to whoever happens to follow you. The targeting is built around the people most likely to buy: homeowners in the towns you cover, the right age, and the interests that line up with a solar buyer. Tighten that and the wrong feeds stop seeing your ads.

  • Homeowners in the areas you actually cover
  • Age and interests matched to a solar buyer
  • Site visitors and quote page drop-offs retargeted
  • Lookalikes built from your past customers

Creative that stops the scroll

A phone screen is a fight for attention. Your real jobs win it: before and afters, an install timelapse, a happy customer talking for twenty seconds.

  • Built from your own job photos and clips
  • Your clips edited and captioned for you
  • New creatives tested

Landing page and tracking

Clicks land on a page built for the quote request, not your homepage. Every lead is tracked back to the ad and the audience that produced it.

  • A page with one job: the quote request
  • Every lead traced to the ad that brought it
  • Real cost per lead, not an estimate
  • Leads land on your phone the second they come in

Retarget and optimise

Most people do not buy solar the first time they see you. We follow up with the ones who showed interest and keep tuning what runs.

  • Retargeting the people who nearly enquired
  • Winning ads scaled, tired ones swapped out
  • Audiences refined as the leads come in
  • Cost per lead driven down over time

The honest bit

Social leads go cold fast. So we make them easy to catch.

A homeowner who fills in a form on their phone at 6P.M. is interested, not committed. Ring them in five minutes and you are having a conversation. Ring them tomorrow and they have three other quotes. Every account we run is set up so the lead hits your phone the second it lands.

Within 5 minutes
You are the first call they take, and usually the only one.
Within an hour
Still workable, but they have started looking around.
Next day
Cold. They have two other quotes and a favourite.

Instant notification to your phone, an email, and every lead logged so nothing slips.

Questions installers ask

Facebook and Instagram ads, straight answers.

How much should I spend?
We recommend a minimum of €750 a month in ad spend to start. Social clicks are cheaper than Google's, so that budget goes further, but below it you cannot run enough audiences to learn what works. That money goes to Meta, not to us, and our fee is separate.
How is this different to boosting a post?
A boosted post asks for a like. A campaign asks for a quote request. Different objective, different targeting, a landing page instead of your profile, and the people who nearly enquired get followed up instead of forgotten.
Won't I just get time-wasters?
That is a targeting and follow-up problem, not a Facebook problem. Nobody can hand-pick who is kept out of an audience, so the work goes into getting the targeting tight: homeowners in the towns you cover, the right age, the interests that fit a solar buyer, a qualifying question on the landing page, and retargeting pointed at the people who showed real interest. If a lead type is not worth your time, tell us and we tune it until it stops turning up.
Do the leads go to a form or my website?
Your website. We send clicks to a landing page built for the enquiry. Instant forms inside Facebook are cheaper per lead but colder, and installers end up ringing people who barely remember filling anything in. The landing page costs a little more per lead and gets you better ones.
Do I need to make videos?
Not essential, but it does help. Video usually beats a still, so thirty seconds filmed on a roof is worth doing when you can. Most of what works is already on your phone: before and after photos, a roof mid-install, a customer saying thanks. Send them over and we edit and caption them. If you want something properly shot, we can arrange that too.
Facebook or Instagram?
Both. One budget covers the pair and the ads go wherever your homeowners actually are. In Ireland that is usually Facebook for the over-45s and Instagram for the younger end, and we let the results decide the split.
I've been burned by an agency before. What makes SolarScale Digital different?
We genuinely care about the relationship with every client, because we understand what local businesses mean in Ireland. The three things that make us different are:

1. We work with solar installers only.
2. We focus on making you more revenue, not getting you more likes.
3. You talk directly to the person doing the work, not an account manager.
