Plain English, no legal padding.
This website, solarscaledigital.ie, is operated by Dylan Thébault, trading as SolarScale Digital, a sole trader registered in Ireland. SolarScale Digital is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
SolarScale Digital is a service area business and does not operate a public office. To reach us about anything in this policy:
We only collect what we need in order to answer you, run a call, and run this website. Nothing is sold and nothing is passed to other marketers.
| Where it comes from | What we collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Contact form | Name, email, phone, company website, and whatever you write in the message box | To reply to your enquiry and, if it goes further, to prepare a proposal |
| Booking a call | Name, email, phone, website, plus your answers to the qualifying questions (installs a month, marketing spend, what you have tried) | To put the call in both diaries, send the joining link, and do the homework before we speak |
| Emails and calls | Anything you send us, and brief notes we take during a call | To keep track of the conversation and follow up properly |
| Analytics | Pages viewed, how you arrived, rough location (country and county level), device and browser | To see which pages are working and which are not |
| Advertising tags | Whether an ad click led to an enquiry, and an anonymous identifier used to show you our ads again | To measure ad spend and stop wasting it |
| Server and security logs | IP address, timestamp, page requested, and the result of the anti-spam check on the form | To keep the site online and keep spam and bots out |
Giving us this information is voluntary, but without it we cannot answer an enquiry or run a call.
Under the GDPR we have to tell you why we are allowed to hold your data. For us it comes down to three grounds.
Where we are legally obliged to keep something, such as invoices and tax records, the basis is legal obligation.
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all. The rest only run if you agree to them on the banner when you first arrive, and you can change your mind at any time.
Until you choose, everything in the last three rows below is switched off. Nothing is pre-ticked, refusing takes the same single click as accepting, and refusing does not limit any part of this site. To change your answer later, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
| Type | Set by | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Cloudflare, Vercel, Cloudflare Turnstile, CookieYes | Serves the site, balances traffic, checks that the person filling in the form is a person and not a bot, and remembers the cookie choice you made so you are not asked again on every page. These run without consent because the site cannot work without them. |
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 | Counts visits and shows which pages people read and where they leave. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage. |
| Advertising | Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Records that an ad click led to an enquiry, and lets us show our ads again to people who have already visited. |
| Functional | Cal.com | Runs the booking widget on the Book a Call page and remembers your timezone while you pick a slot. If you refuse it, the booking page shows a direct link to the calendar instead. |
Google Analytics and Google Ads run under Google Consent Mode. In practice that means that if you refuse, Google is told so before any tag loads, and no advertising or analytics identifier is ever written to your browser.
If you would rather we deleted something sooner, ask and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
You have the following rights over your personal data. All of them are free to use, and we will respond inside one month.
To use any of these, email dylan@solarscaledigital.ie. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we hand over data.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, dataprotection.ie.
